Trump Regulatory ‘Whipsaw’ a Challenge for Oil, Conoco CEO Says

The Trump administration’s drive to cut regulation has helped the U.S. oil industry, but it remains uncertain how long it lasts, ConocoPhillips Co. CEO told a New York audience April 19.

Instability in Washington is posing new challenges for companies trying to make long-term decisions, Ryan Lance said at the Global Energy Summit at Columbia University. President Barack Obama’s administration proposed dozens of new rules on U.S. drillers, many of which Trump has spent the last year unwinding, he said.
