President Donald Trump on Monday formally sent his pick to Congress to replace FERC Chair Mark Christie, choosing Laura Swett from Vinson & Elkins LLP.
Swett’s areas of practice at the law firm are federal and state energy and regulatory litigation. She has represented pipelines and electric power companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The composition of FERC is closely watched as the Trump administration pushes for more fossil fuel use in order to meet increasing energy demand.
