President Donald Trump has nominated Ho Nieh, vice president of regulatory affairs at Southern Nuclear, to serve on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the White House announced Wednesday.
Trump also nominated Douglas Troutman to be the Environmental Protection Agency’s assistant administrator for toxic substances. If confirmed, he’ll lead the EPA’s chemicals office, replacing Michal Freedhoff, who directed the office during the Biden administration.
Troutman is interim co-CEO and general counsel for the American Cleaning Institute, a trade group for the cleaning products industry, which the EPA regulates.
