Trump Agency’s Emergency Approval of Oil Facility Draws Lawsuit

The Trump administration’s emergency 14-day environmental review of a Utah oil transfer facility expansion was illegal in part because no national energy emergency exists, a Colorado county said in a lawsuit filed Thursday.

Eagle County, Colo., is asking a judge to enjoin the Bureau of Land Management’s approval of the Wildcat oil loadout facility expansion near northeast Utah’s Uinta Basin, which was approved under President Donald Trump’s energy emergency.

The oil that would be transferred from trucks onto trains there would be transported to Denver along a rail line threading through the Colorado county. ...
