The Empire Wind 1 offshore project being built near New York shouldn’t be put on pause, the Interior and Commerce departments told a Washington federal court in a brief defending their construction approvals.
“The public interest would be harmed by Plaintiffs’ unwarranted disruption of government-issued permits and approvals on issues that have already been litigated,” the departments said in their Sept. 5 opposition to a motion for an administrative stay filed at the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
