Trump Administration Asks Court to Toss Clean Cars Cases

Federal lawyers are pushing to derail legal challenges from Democrat-led states and environmental groups that oppose the Trump administration’s recent decision to block California from setting its own standards for auto emissions.

In a new legal filing, the Justice Department urged the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to dismiss lawsuits from a coalition of states and environmentalists taking aim at the Department of Transportation’s role in stripping California of its authority to set clean car standards.
