Trucking Company, Applicant End Criminal History Bias Suit (1)

A trucking company and a Pennsylvania man have agreed to close litigation alleging the man’s job application was unlawfully denied because of his criminal history.

The parties moved to dismiss the case with prejudice Thursday, according to a stipulation filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Rodney Phath sued Central Transport LLC in 2024 under the state’s Criminal History Record Information Act, which limits how an employer can use an applicant’s criminal record when considering job candidates.
