Tribunal Dismisses $307 Million Wind Power Claim Against Kenya

The International Court of Arbitration in London dismissed a claim against the Kenyan government by Kinangop Wind Park Ltd., whose proposed 60.8 megawatt wind farm failed to take off.

Kinangop sought 31 billion shillings ($307.4 million) in compensation and damages alleging the East African state failed to eliminate community protests against the project despite a letter of support from the government for the installation of 38 turbines, the Kenyan attorney general’s office said in an emailed statement.
