A Native tribe agreed to drop its lawsuit over a lithium mine in Arizona after the company withdrew its plan.
The Hualapai Indian Tribe had earlier argued the Bureau of Land Management violated federal permitting laws by failing to consider reasonable alternatives to the plan for the Big Sandy project.
But Arizona Lithium, the mine’s owner, withdrew its plan after the US District Court for the District of Arizona granted preliminary injunctive relief to the tribe by temporarily stopping the work.
The tribe then withdrew its legal challenge Monday.
