TransCanada Must Face Nebraskans’ Fees Quest Over Keystone XL

A Nebraska county court must hold a new evidence hearing over landowners’ efforts to recoup attorneys’ fees from TransCanada from their long-running condemnation dispute over the Keystone XL pipeline, according to the state’s highest court.

TransCanada Corp., which plans to build the pipeline, had initiated a series of condemnation actions in 2015 against landowners in several counties, including Antelope County. The company later decided to voluntarily dismiss the actions without prejudice after it received approval from the Nebraska Public Service Commission to pursue an alternate route.
