Pesticide trade association CropLife America and multiple agricultural industry groups want two federal appeals courts to deny public health advocates’ requests to vacate the EPA’s pesticide registrations.
The pesticides, sulfoxaflor and aldicarb, are essential to healthy crops and highly effective against destructive insects, the groups said in amicus briefs filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the D.C. Circuit. Vacating the challenged registrations would significantly disrupt the agricultural economy, CropLife said.
