A petrochemical company agreed to pay the United States $12.1 million to resolve civil penalty claims related to incidents at two Texas manufacturing facilities.
The accord resolves a Clean Air Act lawsuit filed by the government on Tuesday claiming that TPC Group LLC violated risk management program regulations under federal chemical accident prevention provisions at its Port Neches and Houston locations. The company failed to develop and implement critical operating procedures at the facilities, the government claimed.
