Toss Flint Criminal Evidence, Ex-Michigan Governor Demands (1)

Attorneys defending former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder in the Flint water crisis criminal trial are pushing to exclude “millions of documents” they say state investigators failed to manage properly.

The legal team for Snyder (R) filed a brief with a Michigan circuit court Wednesday that included an email from Solicitor General Fadwa Hammoud saying state investigators didn’t use a “taint team.” That admission means massive amounts of evidence may have to be thrown out because the special unit was unable to exclude privileged information from records reviewed by prosecutors in the criminal case.
