The Business Roundtable, which represents CEOs of the largest US corporations, is lobbying for a time limit for lawsuits stemming from environmental permit decisions.
“The permitting process often takes longer than the actual work,” Joshua Bolten, the group’s CEO, told reporters at a Wednesday briefing. “That is a common experience across our membership, and a lot of that is a product of endless and unnecessary litigation that is not related to the protection of the environment and the public.”
Bolten, a former chief of staff to President George W. Bush, didn’t specify a time limit for lawsuits.
