Tiehm’s Buckwheat Needs Emergency Protections, Lawsuit Says (1)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s failure to protect Tiehm’s buckwheat, a rare wildflower, under endangered species law is unreasonable considering the “myriad threats” to the species, according to a lawsuit filed in a Nevada federal court.

The agency should list the species as “endangered” or “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act, according to the Center for Biological Diversity’s lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
