Thinx $5 Million Period Underwear PFAS Deal Gets Final Nod

Consumers and Thinx Inc. finalized a $5 million class settlement resolving allegations that the company deceptively marketed absorbent period underwear as safe despite the presence of PFAS.

Nicole Dickens and others alleged that Thinx misled them by touting the products as free of harmful chemicals. PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are part of a group of “forever chemicals” known to harm humans and the environment. The chemicals make textiles water- and stain-resistant.
