Texas LNG Projects Require More Environmental Study by FERC (1)

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must do more to justify its reauthorization of two liquefied natural gas projects, one of which includes carbon capture and sequestration technology, a D.C. Circuit panel ruled in vacating the approvals.

The Tuesday ruling is the latest development in long-running litigation over proposed LNG terminals and a pipeline at the Brownsville Shipping Channel in Cameron County, Texas. The companies involved in the projects are Enbridge Inc.‘s Rio Bravo Pipeline Company LLC, NextDecade Corp.'s Rio Grande LNG LLC, and Texas LNG Brownsville LLC.
