DCP Operating Co. will pay $650,000 and implement various measures to reduce emissions at its gas plant in Texas, according to an agreement with environmental groups filed in a federal court in the state Friday.
Texas Campaign for the Environment, Environment America Inc., and the Sierra Club alleged in their complaint that the company was releasing pollution far above legal limits from its Goldsmith Gas Plant in Ector County, which contains Odessa.
The groups told the US District Court for the Western District of Texas that the company’s actions violated the Clean Air Act and its implementing regulations.
