Americans are at risk from lawmakers’ failure to renew federal chemical security authorities that help keep dangerous materials out of the hands of terrorists, top government officials say.
“Every day this goes by without reauthorization creates greater and greater risk to the safety and security of our communities across the nation,” Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Jen Easterly said in an interview on the sidelines of a chemical security summit Tuesday.
