TAIPEI—Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower) and Taiwan Magnesium Association signed a memorandum Sept. 1 to work together to reduce emissions of sulfur hexafluoride, a potent greenhouse gas.
The agreement was signed by Taipower President Han-shen Lee and the association’s director-general, Allen Horng. Under the memorandum, Taipower will provide members of the association with 2,000 kilograms of spent sulfur hexafluoride annually. The collaboration will result in reduction of the equivalent of 45,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
