Syngenta, Chevron Face Parkinson’s Claims Tied to Herbicide (2)

Syngenta AG and Chevron USA Inc. face a growing number of lawsuits from people alleging their exposure to the herbicide paraquat caused Parkinson’s disease.

More than a dozen complaints have been filed in federal district courts in California, West Virginia, and Illinois seeking damages for personal injuries from paraquat exposure. The companies knew or should have known the herbicide can cause severe neurological injuries, said a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
