The Army is rapidly pushing several electric vehicle projects through testing and development, part of its plan to reduce fuel use across the battlefield, a Defense Department official said Thursday.
The lead effort is an electric light reconnaissance vehicle, which the Army wants to prototype in fiscal 2024 and hopefully begin production three to four years later, said Douglas Bush, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics, and technology, speaking at a panel convened by the Atlantic Council.
