Swedish Chemicals Agency Reports Noncompliance, Seeks New Powers

Sixteen Swedish companies have been reported to state prosecutors for violations of chemical regulations, many of them in electronic products, prompting the Swedish Chemicals Agency to seek additional enforcement powers.

The companies already had been warned that certain products they imported were not in compliance with Swedish and European Union chemical rules, the agency said, but they continued to import them despite exceeding limits.
