Sustainable Finance Disagreement in European Union Goes Nuclear

Billions of euros of low-carbon energy investment could be at stake in an obscure European Union dispute about whether or not to set up a committee.

The committee, if established would study whether nuclear power generation should be considered sustainable. It is a proxy for a disagreement among EU countries about the role of nuclear in the bloc’s plans to become a net-zero emissions economy by 2050.
