The Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday announced the addition of a new chemical to the Clean Air Act’s air toxics list for the first time since the list was created in 1990.
Following a June 2020 notice, the Hazardous Air Pollutants list will now include 1-bromopropane, a reasonably anticipated human carcinogen chemical found in dry cleaners, metal cleaners, and paint coatings. The finalized rule will post in the Federal Register (RIN 2060-AS26) on Wednesday.
