Supreme Court Should Keep Enbridge Suit in State, Industry Says

The Great Lakes Business Network urged the US Supreme Court to side with the state of Michigan and keep a lawsuit over the future of an oil and gas pipeline in state court.

Enbridge Energy’s claimed federal interests for its Line 5 pipeline “are exaggerated in some cases and nonexistent in others,” the group said in its brief filed Oct. 17.

“Federal interests do not create federal jurisdiction,” the network said.
