ExxonMobil Corp. won’t have another chance to challenge millions of dollars in fines it faces from claims that emissions from the company’s Texas refinery far exceeded its Clean Air Act permits.

Exxon asked the US Supreme Court to weigh in on whether the company can be held liable for alleged injuries that cannot be definitively traced to unlawful versus lawful emissions.
