The US Supreme Court on Tuesday accepted a settlement over Rio Grande River water allocation among Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and the US government.
The states and the Trump administration in February agreed to a Rio Grande Compact Decree, which will determine water deliveries from New Mexico to Texas using a stream gauge in El Paso. The court this week accepted the decree and released the special master who adjudicated the case, D. Brooks Smith, senior judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
