Sunoco Owes $1.3 Million in Ohio Paint Waste Cleanup, Court Says

Sunoco Inc. will pay $1.3 million to address its predecessor’s contamination at a former paint manufacturing site in Ohio despite the company’s last-minute doubts about the bill, a federal district court decided.

The settlement resolves the federal government’s claims against Sunoco and Carboline Co. for unreimbursed cleanup costs at the Lammers Barrel Superfund site in Beavercreek, Ohio. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio finalized the consent decree in a Monday decision.
