Stop Mountain Valley Pipeline’s Remaining Work, Green Groups Say

Earth-disturbing activities by the Mountain Valley Pipeline LLC threatens harm to streams that contain endangered fish and should be stopped, environmental groups say in a motion for a temporary stay filed in the Fourth Circuit.

The groups’ motion comes days after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit put a hold on the pipeline’s stream crossing permits issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The court’s stay didn’t stop construction activities, however, such as clearing, grading, or trenching in upland areas, according to the filing.
