More three dozen states and localities sued the Trump administration Thursday, arguing its repeal of the endangerment finding goes against the government’s mandate under the Clean Air Act and accusing the administration of rehashing settled Supreme Court arguments.
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) co-led the petition alongside attorneys general representing California, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, according to a press release from James’ office.
The lawsuit was widely expected after the Environmental Protection Agency’s repeal of the finding elicited outrage from myriad blue states’ attorneys general, several of whom indicated they planned to challenge the administration in court.
