State Attorneys Want Tougher Car and Truck Standards From EPA

State attorneys general urged the Biden administration to beef up emission standards for cars and heavy trucks, according to two letters filed to agencies on Tuesday.

The coalitions, led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D), called for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency to adopt stringent limits on fuel for model year 2024-2026 vehicles and nitrogen oxide, or NOx, emissions from heavy-duty trucks.
