Stalled U.S. Nuclear Project May End Up Producing Solar Power

The site of a stalled nuclear project in Alabama may eventually become a solar farm instead.

Tennessee Valley Authority, which agreed to sell the partially completed Bellefonte Nuclear Generating Station in 2016 for $111 million, could regain control of the project if the deal fails to close, according to TVA President and Chief Executive Officer William Johnson. He declined to discuss whether the buyer will be able to meet the November deadline.
