A coalition of 16 Arizona and New Mexico counties along with several livestock and business groups are supporting Utah’s US Supreme Court original jurisdiction lawsuit, which asks the justices to declare millions of acres of federal land holdings in the West unconstitutional.
The counties filed an amicus brief in Utah v. US claiming that 25.6 million acres of land in Arizona and New Mexico are “unappropriated” and unconstitutionally owned by the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management.
