The federal government was partially successful in its bid to dismiss a complaint stemming from 2021 fuel leaks at the Navy’s Red Hill Bulk fuel storage facility on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Residents sued alleging the US was negligent for releasing fuel into the water supply and that it failed to disclose the leaks, the order said, resulting in health and economic issues.
Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi of the US District Court for the District of Hawaii on Thursday dismissed the claims based on negligence theories, alleging that the government failed to warn residents of the danger from the leaks. ...
