The Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved a new two-year program to provide incentives for rooftop and community solar installations. The three commissioners gave tentative approval Nov. 24 to Xcel Energy of Colorado’s Solar*Rewards plan, which provides incentives for the installation at least 42.5 megawatts of rooftop and community solar power per year in 2015 and 2016. The move will provide the solar industry with predictability and certainty, along with stable incentive prices, according to the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association. The commission decision must still be incorporated into a written order, subject to appeals, the association said.
