Solar-Parts Maker Opens US Plant as Biden Pushes Domestic Supply

Norway-based NorSun AS plans to open a solar parts factory in the US by 2026 as companies take advantage of Inflation Reduction Act incentives targeted at boosting domestic solar manufacturing.

The company has entered a multi-year contract with solar panel maker Heliene Inc. to supply them wafers — a major raw material used in constructing the modules — from the new facility, the companies said in a statement. The 5-gigawatt factory will be located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
