Solar Generating Customers Face Unlawful Rates, Suit Says (1)

The Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District failed to buy and sell electricity to customers with solar generation at nondiscriminatory rates, violating Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules, solar groups and customers claimed in federal court.

“For any level of electricity delivered by SRP to the customer, solar customers always pay more for that service than a non-solar customer receiving equivalent service,” Solar United Neighbors, Vote Solar, and two residential customers of SRP told the US District Court for the District of Arizona.
