‘Solar-Coaster’ Ride Gives Way to Some Certainty for Industry

After a volatile 2017 for Sunlink Corp. and others in the solar power industry, a pessimistic outlook for the industry’s future is being tempered slightly now that companies are more certain of what solar module import tariffs will mean for them.

The last year or so has been tumultuous for the solar industry because companies didn’t know how they would be affected by declining solar research and development investments, congressional indecision about the fate of the federal solar investment tax credit, and the tariffs, Sunlink CEO Michael Maulick told Bloomberg Environment.
