SoCal Edison Power Line Caused Deadly 2022 Fire, California Says

A power line owned by Southern California Edison started the Fairview Fire that killed two people east of Los Angeles in 2022, according to California investigators.

A sagging energized line came into contact with a communication cable, causing an electric arch and shower of sparks to fall and ignite the vegetation below, according to a report by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, or Cal Fire.
