Sex Assault Claim Against Oregon Spiritual Guru Filed Too Late

An Oregon yoga and meditation center guru is free of a woman’s sex assault allegations after a federal judge there ruled the woman waited too long to file her suit.

The woman, identified only as D.T., claimed she was repeatedly assaulted by J. Michael Shoemaker, also known as Swami Chetanananda.

D.T. alleged that in August 2008, D.T. said Shoemaker repeatedly drugged and assaulted her, as well as had her engage in sexual conversations with other men, the US District Court for the District of Oregon recounted from an amended complaint.
