Settlement Over West Virginia Water Toxicity Approved by Court

The Environmental Protection Agency agreed to collaborate with West Virginia’s environmental agency to set water toxicity standards for the Lower Guyandotte watershed in a settlement with conservation groups that was approved by a federal court.

The consent decree is reasonable, in the public interest, and complies with the Clean Water Act, Judge Robert C. Chambers of the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia said Wednesday.
