The Senate on Saturday unjammed the confirmation of David Uhlmann, the Biden administration’s pick to lead the EPA’s enforcement division, paving the way for a vote on his confirmation.
The motion to discharge passed by a 51-39 vote.
Uhlmann had been stuck in limbo after a 10-10 vote from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee in April. Saturday’s successful discharge motion relieves the committee from its duty to recommend nominations to the full Senate for a vote.
