All 50 Senate Republicans on Tuesday kick-started the process of scrubbing the Biden administration’s environmental permitting rule.
The bid comes in the form of a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act. Under that statute, a simple majority vote in both the House and Senate within 60 days of a rule’s issuance strikes down the regulation. It also blocks the agency from ever issuing a “substantially similar” rule.
