Senate Democrat Urges More IMF Climate Work Amid Trump Pressure

Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse urged the International Monetary Fund to keep up with its work on climate, as the Trump administration criticizes the lender’s approach to the topic.

In a letter to IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva this week, Whitehouse said the Washington-based Fund should continue its analysis of the “significant risks” related to climate change, citing direct impacts to the global economy.
