The Senate confirmed Douglas Troutman Thursday to serve as the EPA’s assistant administrator for toxic substances where he will oversee the approval and use of pesticides and commercial chemicals.
Troutman’s experience includes 18 years working on a spectrum of legal and government affairs at the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), and similar positions at UL LLC, better known as Underwriters Laboratories, and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
His familiarity with the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and green chemistry have garnered praise.
