The Senate voted 53-40 Wednesday to confirm Katharine MacGregor as deputy Interior secretary.
It’s MacGregor’s second stint as deputy Interior secretary, a role she served during the last year of the first Trump administration. She had previously been deputy chief of staff to then-Interior Secretary David Bernhardt.
Before joining Interior in 2017, MacGregor served under Republicans as a House Natural Resources Committee staffer.
