Senate Republicans on Thursday passed a long-shot attempt to claw back the Biden administration’s changes to the nation’s environmental permitting rules.
If passed into law, the resolution of disapproval (S.J. Res. 55) would nullify a White House rule finalized in April that requires agencies to consider the climate change impacts of a proposed infrastructure project. The measure was approved 50-47, with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) joining Republicans in support.
