Senate Panel Advances Danly as Deputy Energy Secretary Nominee

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on Wednesday voted 13-7 to advance James Danly, former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, to be second in command at the Energy Department.

President Donald Trump’s nominee spoke before the committee April 2, promising to tackle issues with grid reliability and nuclear development. Several senators asked about the country’s growing energy demand, including what sources the new administration was looking at.
