SCOTUS to Skip $39 Million Monsanto Roundup Deal

The US Supreme Court declined Monday to review a $39 million Roundup class settlement that included a large cy pres award, passing up an objector’s argument that the sizable charitable component wrongfully diverted class members’ compensation to third parties.

Lisa Jones, Horacio Torres Bonilla, and Kristoffer Yee alleged Bayer AG unit Monsanto Co. deceived consumers about the weed killer’s health risks. They reached a settlement providing the multimillion-dollar fund and label changes.
